Our connection with Christ should produce nourishment for the world.

Scripture
“I am the vine; you are the branches.” — John 15:5

Reflection
The vine and branches are sometimes interpreted mainly as a boundary separating insiders from outsiders.

But Christ emphasizes fruitfulness.

A branch connected to Christ should bear love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Interfaith relationships do not need to weaken Christian rootedness. They can reveal whether that rootedness is producing generous spiritual fruit.

Bahá’í teachings honour Christ as a divine source of spiritual life and describe all revealed religions as branches of one unfolding religion of God.

Offer one nourishing act of kindness without asking what the recipient believes.
