— The Foundation Beneath Our Lives

A foundation is proven by the life that is built upon it.

Scripture
“No one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 3:11

Reflection
For Christians, Christ is the sure foundation of faith.

Yet Paul immediately speaks about how each person builds upon that foundation. A confession of Christ cannot make cruelty, prejudice, or domination spiritually secure.

An interfaith perspective does not ask Christians to abandon their foundation. It asks them to build upon it with materials worthy of Christ: truth, reconciliation, humility, and love.

Bridge Insight
Bahá’í teachings recognize Christ as a foundational Manifestation of God whose teachings helped prepare humanity for further stages of spiritual and social development.

Daily Practice
Examine whether one attitude you hold is worthy of the foundation you profess.
