Reflection
Images of hell have often been used to terrify others into religious submission.

Revelation speaks through intense symbols to communities facing violence, empire, compromise, and injustice.

Before using its fire against our neighbours, we might ask what within us must be purified: cruelty, indifference, greed, racism, or spiritual pride.

Divine judgment should awaken repentance before it produces accusation.
